  1. I don't know if he had a previous Achilles injury or if the "calf injury" was really a calf injury, but sometimes coming back from an injury leads to another. DMC came back from his Achilles injury and wasn't back for too many games before he pulled his quad in the playoffs. If the two were unrelated it would not really shock me, but I don't know.

  2. I am with Shannon on this one. I believe his intuition is spot on. That first injury was a minor Achilles issue and directly led to the rupture last night. It's the most logical conclusion as Achilles injuries are quite rare.

  3. Calf tightness can affect the Achilles depending on where the muscle tear is and what area is tight. I know this from experience. From there, the Achilles can be compromised. I am not surprised about what happened last night.

  4. What everybody doesn’t seem to understand is that KD did it for his family, his team and himself. Nobody else. This was his chance for another title and he wanted to help. He’s gonna come back from the injury. Unlike many other players, the reason he is so good is because of his natural abilities. His length and shooting ability is bar to none. He’s not someone who’s going to be stopped from an Achilles injury. Shooters last a long time in this league.

  5. Media questioned repeatedly the integrity and commitment to the Warriors of KD a man who responds to everything negative said about him by implying that he was holding out for free agency and management listened and let him play when he should have rested a few weeks from the last major contract of his career. Now media wants to act like they didn't create this environment.

  6. No lie I had an Achilles injury back in like 2011 2012 and I had the same exact reaction I thought someone had ran right into the back of my left leg. Luckily for me it was just a partial tear and I did not opt for surgery.

  7. I'm not a KD fan, but I respect him and his game, when I saw this yesterday I was upset. They put him out there too soon for their selfish reasons. If I were Kevin I'd be upset with them. These 2 didn't hold back, I liked when Skip said fake cry. These guys know what's up. Just like with Kawhi, it was his body, and he was right to stay out, and now look where he's at. San Antonio with all of their history, and reputation made a big blunder, and now a team in Canada, that doesn't have that history is about to make history.

  8. Never thought about a team doctor in the way Shannon put it when he said “employee of the team.” At the end of the day, these doctors are just trying to make sure the players are healthy enough to be out on the court.

  9. I called achiliis tear when the first injury happened . I tore mine before and that walk was way to familiar. I was blown away to see him playing . And then he went down . I knew it . U could slightly tear it and rest and feel ok . But the Mmoment u try and take off off that foot ur done

  10. People were calling Kawhi all types of stuff out of his name for listening to his body and not playing until he felt near 100%…get well soon KD

  11. We just saw this with Joshua these people will put ur career in danger just for a win…at some point players have to look out for THEMSELVES KD was stupid for playing…period.

  12. Honestly, I feel like Kevin Durant should have taken the necessary time to rest and recover. HIs injury was not minor, and I agree with Shannon that he should have reached out for a second opinion.

  13. Golden State is 100% to blame for KD's making that injury worse. I'm not a KD fan, but the man health's is so much more important than a Championship.

And watch that video of Durant's leg…It's clearly that his leg explode.

  14. There seems to be a trend here with the Warriors medical staff and their clearing of their players to play early… Boogie, Klay, Iggy, Looney…. Sometimes it works out but sometimes it doesn't and when it doesn't, things can be disasterous. Team doctors will always have BOTH the wellbeing of the athlete AND the interests of the franchise (their employers) in mind and frequently those interests conflict with one another. More often than not, the team Doc will feel pressured by the team to get the athlete recovered quicker than they should (therefore showing that they're apparently an amazing rehab specialist) and then the athlete re-injures themself. This used to happen with concussions. At least nowthe leagues have stepped in and formalized some protocols regarding return to play… Otherwise the team docs would have just kept sending out the athletes too early.

  15. Although KD's injury was tragic and devastating . How about the Warriors WINNING game 5 on the road in Toronto ??? Let's discuss how resilient the Golden State Warriors are and how they WON the Game. Where is the PROPS for the Warriors WINNING the GAME ??? There are FAR TOO MANY discussions on KD's Injury which is unfortunate.
